Qatar was the latest location to held a Formula Drift event. It was part of Formula Drift expansion program to the rest of the world. Some of Formula Drift USA drifter such as Tanner Foust, Fredric Aasbo, Daijiro Yoshihara, Tony Brakohiapa and Michael Essa make the trip to Qatar and was join up by some of South East Asian finest such as Tengku Djan Ley and Kiki Sak Nana. It was Tanner Foust last outing in Formula Drift and he bow out in style. He took the win over Tengku Djan Ley after a nail biting battle. Having driving the most underpowered vehicle in the event with just under 400bhp on tap, Tengku Djan Ley proved that he had what it take to compete with top drifter in the world. However, second placing was a good finish for Djan. Fredric Aasbo took the last spot of the podium. After seven wonderful year of competing in Formula Drift, the two time Formula Drift champion and one of the most recognized face in Formula Drift, Tanner Foust will leave Formula Drift for 2011 season to focus on rallycross and television commitments. He will continue as one of the host of the second season Top Gear USA and participating in numerous Rallycross event in USA and Europe. Sadly, the famed Nascar V8 powered Rockstar Energy Scion TC will be temporary retired from any form of drifting competition. He will be driving Rockstar Energy Drink Ford Fiesta in Rallycross events. Event : Formula Drift Malaysia 2010 Date : 18-19 December 2010 Location : Dataran Merderka Kuala Lumpur: Formula Drift Malaysia 2010 is the final stop of Formula Drift Asian tour. Previous round was held in Thailand and Singapore. Formula Drift Malaysia 2010 took place in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Dataran Merdeka. The city view added the color to event and created a great motorsport carnival weekend. Defending champion Tengku Djan Ley was leading the scoring board period to this event. A debut appearance for 2008 D1gp champion Daigo Saito whom will be driving Hong Kong Team Type R Toyota Aristo.

Race day. Total of 32 driver will be battle it out for the Winner title of Formula Drift Singapore 2010. Tengku Djan Ley, winner of the last year Formula Drift Singapore 2009, manage to get into final and setup a all bridgestone Final. He up against his bridgestone teammate Tan Tat Wei and manage to hold on and win the title again. Next stop for Formula Drift Asia will be at Thailand. Formula Drift Singapore is back and this time was held at F1 race track, F1 pit building in Marina Bay Singapore. First part, we will be looking at the girls in the event.

Race day and a cloudy day. The event is pack with crowd, girls, cars and photographer. All is well organized but the sound system is a bit poor. I barely heard what the commentator is talking. Djan again show everyone why he is the best in the region. He won after a hard battle with Kiki. Unlucky mad mike manage only to finish in third. He is one of favorite to win the event. Federal's Mervyn Nakamura did well and finish 4th. Full result can be view at the below link Full Result

Qualifying day was spoil by the rain. The event is pack with crowd and all grandstand ticket sold out even on qualifying day. The top qualifier was Djan's with 88.7 follow closely by Hanizam 81.2 and Ryuji Miki 78.2. Full result can be view at the below link: Qualifying result . There are about 50+ cars took part in this round. One of the largest ever. Here are some race machine and show cars of the event. First up, mad mike's 4 rotor Mazda RX7 FD3S. Love the 4 rotor roars. Such a music to the ear.....

This is my first outing as a amateur photographer. This event was held at Singapore exhibition center nearby changi area. I had yet to own a DSLR. Therefore, i had to borrow my friend Sony A200 + minolta 70-210 f4 for this event. Overall, my picture quality was bad but i had learned a lot from this event.
