Apr 3rd 2011, Chevrolet sole distributor in Malaysia Pavilion Crest Sdn Bhd had organize a roadshow Pavilion Kuala Lumpur to promote Chevrolet latest model Cruze. Chevrolet Cruze is widely use in Touring car competition and was the 2010 champion car in BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) which was driven by Fifth Gear host Jason Plato.
The new Chevrolet Cruze is powered by a 1.8 liter DOHC 4 cylinder output 140HP and 179Nm. The engine has chevrolet DCVCP (Double Continuous Variable Cam Phrasing) and VIS (Variable Intake System) to improve emission and drive ability.
The car is equiped with a 6 speed automatic transmission with shiftronic and able to do 0-100kmph in 11.5 second with top speed of 190kmph.
The starting price for Chevrolet Cruze is at RM97,888. At this sub rm100k price, it easily outprice the more expensive Japanese competitor such as Altis, Sylphy and Civic.
From exterior, the car does look good at stock form but Chevrolet do offer a more sporty version to spice up the Cruze overall look.
With the addition of sporty bodykit and bigger alloy wheel, it really transform the look of a civilized car to a more sporty car.
Just before i call it a day, the organizer told me that they had organized a special performance for the day.
It is a flash mob dance by a large group of student. The environment was ignited with this group of dancer that appear from noway and performed the flash mob dance. It is a nice touch by the organizer to end the roadshow.
