Event: KBS Drift 2011 - Round 3

Location: PutraJaya, Presint 2
KBS or Kementerian Belia dan Sukan had organized a drifting event recently in Presint 2 Putrajaya and it is round 3. To be frank, I had no idea it had held so many round previously prior to this. Anyway, it was a sudden call from my buddy Wingz to come over for some fun shooting. So here are my coverage of the event.
The event was all about grassroot. It provide the perfect platform for new upcoming drifter to get some driving time and perfecting their skill. Nevertheless, they are some Malaysia pro drifter present in this event. Goodyear racing trio, Ariff Johanis, Azrina Jane and Tan Tat Wei were present in this event.

And here is Jane doing what she does best.
Tan Tat Wei switching from Bridgestone to Goodyear and he look at very comfortable with the tyres from Goodyear. All eye will be on him as he might be the man to bring up Goodyear Racing Malaysia.
With a very agile chasis in AE86 couple with wild NA 13b rotor machine, he will be a force to be reckon. I personally hope he could do well in Goodyear Racing as he was over shadow by his more famous ex-teammate in Bridgestone Team.
Another drifter that deserve some credit that is BullZai. He is a privateer drifter which he fund he drifting project with his own money. He currently driving a Nissan S15 with a V8 torque monster powering it. Picture above show what the car is capable of.
He will be joining GT Radial drift team soon. So all the best to him.
Indonesian drifter and member of GT Radial Drift Team Rhenadi Arinton do take some time off to participant in this event.
He was driving his usual 180sx. Hope to see him more.
Ah Boy from Ace suspension was present to spice up the event a bit more.
His chop off AE86 wagon does look cool when on side way. It powered by a more modern SR20 NA engine. Definitely not for AE86 purist.

There are strong privateers participant such as this panda AE86. Do it remind you about Initial D Takumi's AE86?....lol
To get more power of underpower 4age, you have to turbocharge it. Here are the example.

180sx still widely use by many drifter. The simple fact is the car look good while driving sideway.
Nissan Cefiro A31 doing sideway.
More 180sx goodness. But this time a more stock looking 180sx.
One of the reason why A31 still a popular drift car in Malaysia is that the car was easily source in Malaysia and able to use many parts from Skyline R34.

Old Toyota KE70 still kicking hard in side way.

It was a nice event but too bad i can't stay too long as i had another appointment later. Therefore, above picture were from the practice and qualifying session. Just before i left, i spotted a nice looking Mazda Rx7 FD. I couldn't resist myself and take a shot from the back. I always had a special feeling toward FD3S. It just look great from what even angle i look at it.
So to end this posting, here are the new member of Goodyear Racing Team, Tan Tat Wei's wild AE86 butt shot.
