Super GT Malaysia 2011 - Day 1

Event: Super GT 2011 - Day 1
Date: 18 - 19th June 2011
Location: SIC

Again thanks to Buggershot, i finally had the chance to shot on this event. It was one of those event that i always wanted to attend. Aside from the large pool of pretty model (Japanese and Local malaysian girl), it was the car that really attracted me. The wild wide body kit, striking livery and crazy car design were the criteria for Super GT race car.

After solved out my media pass and my desk in the media center, i took a peep on what is going on in the pit lane. Above picture was Team Raybrig's Honda HSV010 coming in for a quick pitstop.

Without wasting much time, i rush toward the track side to have a better view of these crazy GT cars blasting around Sepang Circuit. Above picture was GT300 JLOC's Lamborghini Gallardo blasting pass me in turn 5.

There are a few new machine in the current Super GT race. Here is one of them, the Ferrari 458 Italia.

Another new entry was BMW Z4 GT3 of GSR&Studie with TeamUKYO which was piloted by Nob Tanaguchi. He switched to GSR&Studie with TeamUKYO after RE Amemiya pull out from Super GT.

Honda HSV010 GT will be on heavy spot light as it is the newest GT500 machine. F1 like exhaust sound and super slick look make this amazing machine. With new rules in GT500 which require car to be a FR setup, honda had to abandon their infamous NSX GT.

I kinda like how the Ferrari 458 tail look. Here are the shot before i make my way back to the pit for some candid shot

As i walk toward the back of pit building, i spotted 3 models were surrounded by cameras eagerly to snap their photo. So i took a quick snap of them.

When i walk into the pitlane i was greeted by this amazing machine. Team Epson Honda HSV-010 GT. Such a beauty.

Team mechanics were busy getting the car setup to tip top condition. Team Raybrid mechanic adjusting the suspension setup.

Team Weider making sure their race machine was in good condition after look hour traveling from japan.

Team ARTA's drivers and team principals (Suzuki-san and Tsuchiya-san) line up for TV interview. They have a whole new driver this season with Hideki Mutoh and Takashi Kobayashi.

Rules in GT300 is quite loose compare to GT500. GT300 only rules cap is the HP will be limited to 300HP. Therefore there are a lot variety of car in GT300 like this Team Mach GoGoGo Syaken RD320R...

...and Team ThunderAsia MT900M.

Not to mention, Team ARTA Garaiya. To be frank, I had very little knowledge about these car.

It is great to see more European brand race car taking part in Super GT race. Here are Team Hankook Porsche GT3.

If there is one name that is so associated with Super GT that have to be the "GTR". The name was so famous even back in the day of Group A and JGTC. Here are Team His Nissan GTR setting up the alignment.

Here another iconic team, Team Calsonic doing some setup under the car.

Team Keihin driver lineup with Toshihiro Kaneishi and Koudai Tsukakoshi.

Team Epson driver lineup with Honda's factory driver Ryo Michigami and Yuhki Nakayama.

Just i was about to return to the media center for some much need freshment, i bump into Michelin mascot greeting everyone that pass by him.

After having a nice break from the Sepang Heat, it is the infamous pit walk session. The pit lane will be open for public with pit lane ticket. This is the session where you can see all those Japanese race queen in one place.

And all the crazy camera shot on those models. Kinda pity them.
