MMER 2011 - Part 2
Event: Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race 2011

Location: Sepang International Circuit, SIC
As day become more darker, here are the beautiful sight that i could capture. Big brake disc turn red....
...to flash light from the grandstand which made this race more beautiful.
Many cars start to struggle. Team Clearwater Racing Ferrari 458 GT3 force to retired after 284 laps. This car has the speed but lack of reliability.
Some still turning on it attacking game. But sadly this beautiful BMW Z4 GT3 from Ligui Moly Team Engstler only manage to complete 188 laps before retired.
A string of mechanical problem which resulted team Craft Eurasia Racing Ford GT completed 284 laps and finish 6th overall.
However, it is a good outing for Nexus Racing Aston Martin Vantage as they manage to win the Sport Production class and 7th overall.
Moving to Touring production class, number 22 Honda Civic Type R from Team ST Powered managed to hold the assault from local Malaysia Team Type Racing to win the Touring Production and amazing 8th overall.
Although they didn't manage to win it class, they should be proud of their achievement with 9th overall.
The number 7 car from Pauian Archiland Absolute Racing Audi R8 LMS finish a respectable 10th overall consider this was their first outing in this track.
Second Belgian Audi Club cars driven by Darryl O'Young / Seiji Ara / Alex Yoong finished fifth overall.
Number 28 Petronas Syntium Team driven by T.Kataoka / Fariqe Hairuman / Bernd Schneider have a relative trouble free first 10 hours which enable them to take the lead of the race until a mechanical problem hit hard on them which handing the lead to Number 1 car of Belgian Audi Club. That mechanical does causes them the winning but however they managed to finish in third overall.
After leading car number 28 Petronas Syntium Team suffer with mechanical problem, Number 1 car from Belgian Audi Club driven by Frank Biela / Marcel Fassler / Marco Werner took over the lead and look set to win their very first MMER and overcome their disappointment of last year. However, lady luck not on their side again and they suffer a slow punctual which handing the lead to Number 15 car of Petronas Syntium Team in a dramatic fashion.
Car number 15 Petronas Syntium Team driven by N.Taniguchi / M.Yanagida / Dominic Ang managed to beat all odds and took the overall victory in a dramatic ending. This are Petronas Syntium Team second MMER winning where they manage to win in 2009. The competitive show by both Petronas Syntium Team and Belgian Audi Club did result both team managed to better the record of lap completed by a whopping 6 laps in total of 321 laps.
