AFOS (Asian Festival Of Speed) 2011

Sorry for the late posting but late better than never. Finally i had time to blog about AFOS 2011 event which i attended in April. I was seriously tied up with all my day works and shooting. AFOS or Asian Festival Of Speed is a event where consist a few races such as the main race GT Asia Series, JK Racing Asia Series and Asia Touring Car Series. For this event, i was helping my buddy from Buggershot to cover this event and thanks Buggershot for the media pass.
AS show on the opening picture, it is one of the race car that race in GT Asia Series. Cars that race in GT Asia are cars classified as GT3 and GT4.
Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Ford and Lotus were among the car manufacturer that took part in the series.
Round 1 and Round 2 of GT Asia Series took place during AFOS race week.
It was a good weekend for Dilango Racing Team as their car won the round 1 and come second in round 2 which give them a solid 34 point to start the season. "We love and support Japan" as you can see in above picture.
It is not a good weekend for Team Clearwater Racing as their main driver Mok Weng Sun whom had change to a new Ferrari 458 italia retired on round 1 and only managed a fifth placing in round 2. The new Ferrari 458 suffer some damage on it carbon fiber body.
Team Arrows Racing managed to score some solid point with a second place in Round 1 and third place in Round 2.
In GT Master class, TAN Ian Mao from Team Clearwater racing lead the class after two round of races and follow closely by Bryan Tong and Eric Lo.
In JK Racing Series, the car was basically based on Formula BMW car. Most of the participant are young driver whom progressed from Go Kart racing.
There were two round held in AFOS weekend and Lucas Auer from Eurointernational dominated by win both rounds.
The race was a 10 lap race with no pitstop required.
Since most of the driver are young in age, they are more aggressive and sometimes overly pushing their car. :P
This is how young they are.
Now for my favorite race, the touring car. I always have a special feeling toward touring car especially those 2 liter NA cars. In this ATCS series, it was dominated by Honda with only 2 Chevrolet the only non-Honda car.
Eric Kwong from Look Fong Racing Team was the biggest winner of that week with winning the round 3 and come second in round 4.
Hideharu Kuroki from Team IMSP took the win in round 4 better his result in round 3 where he managed fifth overall.
Whenever there is car there will be hot babe around. Here on the left Renee Hong and unknown AFOS girl(sorry didn't get your name).
Ilinca Tan on the left and Elaine Chua on the right. What you think?

Other than racing on the track, AFOS did manage to invite a large number of car club to the event to spice thing up.
