Putrajaya: On 4 Nov 2010, Peugeot had launch it new 207 into Malaysia B-segment car market as a sedan version. The new Peugeot 207 will be competing with the like of more establish model such as Honda City and Toyota Vios.
The 207 was previously sold in Malaysia under Bestari rebadge exercise. Now on it original identity, it will be interesting to see how it does in Malaysia's over competitive B-segment market.
Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad was present in the launching along with Mr Jean-Marie Le Guen, Chairman of the France-Malaysia caucus of the French National Assembly, Mr Gregoire Olivier, CEO Asian operations PSA Group, Mr Jean-Yves Dossal, Sales Director Asian operations PSA Group, En SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin, Joint Group Executive Chairman of the Naza Group of Companies, En SM Faliq SM Nasimuddin, Group Managing Director of Naza TTDI.
The new 207 sedan is equipped with a 1.6L engine and pushes out 110Hp at 5,800rpm. It has a max torque of 147Nm at 4,000rpm. The transmission is adaptive and comes with a Tiptronic and Sport Mode function. The suspension setup has a front independent setup, with the rear running torsion bean with front and rear anti-roll bars installed for better handling.
The car retailing at Rm72,888.00 which is an attractive price for a sedan car that is CBU. Airbags are as standard for the front passengers along with EBD and EBA. It is available in Red, White, Bronze, Silver and Black. For more details do log into www.peugeot.com.my and www.drivingmotion.com
