GRA 2010 Round 4 - Mardi Serdang (Race Day)

MAEPS: Grass Racing Autosports held their 4th Round of the championship series at MAEPS Serdang. Sponsored by Red Line Oils, Gophers GPS, Vanli Genuine Parts, Perma Glass, BFGoodrich Tires, EcoCoats, Greenletrics, ContourHD and Acrogain this was the 2nd time that GRA held a race event there.



Ivan Khong from Team BFGoodrich Tires Subaru Impreza was determined to take 1st place to close up the gap onto Championship leader Marcus Chye in his Lotus Exige Supercharged. Andy Kow teammate to Ivan in a similar Subaru Impreza took 2nd Overall with Marcus stealing 3rd on the last run from Ee Yoong Cherng in a Nissan Sylvia Turbo S14.



The track was dusty, sandy and filled with pebbles or better known as gravel circuit. Julian Pang in Class OC from Team Red Line took 1st in Class OC, with William Wong in a Satria GTi taking 2nd and Sia Chee Bin from Team PGPerma Glass taking 3rd spot.

In class OB, it was a young entrant Tuah Damak in his Honda Civic taking 1st in Class with Charlie Ling in his Toyota Trueno AE86 taking 2nd spot. 3rd in Class went to Round 2 winner Zulraimi Yunus. This is one of the most hotly contested class, and now the championship for Class OB, is wide open.



Class OA was a tough fight between William Lim from Team Vanli and Alven Lee from Team Red Line. But at the end, Alven claimed top spot with William coming in a very close second. Adam Marcos took 3rd in class this time around.



Class OD was the fight amongst the more powerful cars, with Ivan Khong from Team BFGoodrich Tires taking 1st spot with Andy Kow taking 2nd spot also from Team BFGoodrich Tires. During the Round 4 timed runs, Ee Yoong Cherng was leading Marcus Chye all day for 3rd spot until a crucial mistake was all Marcus needed from Yoong to grab 3rd spot after losing out on the final timed run 7. Yoong said, ' It was very close, and very intense'. Marcus after taking his trophy said, 'That was a very close call, and grabbing valuable points to go for the championship is most important now'.

In the Novice Category for the Grass Class, CS Lim in his Proton Iswara took top spot in Class A.
