Event: Kendall Ace Drift Challenge 2011 - Round 1
Date: 2-3 Jan 2011
Location: A'Famosa Resort, Alor Gajah, Melaka
Alor Gajah, 2-3 Jan 2010: Kendall Ace Drift Challenge 2011 started it drifting series in A'Famosa Resort, Alor Gajah and it is the first drifting and motorsport event in 2011.
In this round, a total of 55 cars participated which include sponsored pro drifter and privateer. With an affordable participation fee, Kendall Ace Drift Challenge serves as a good platform for pro drifter to test the new setup on their car and hone the skill of the privateer.
Drift Team like Federation D, Team Exotic Tuner, Team Goodyear and Team Advan were present in this event. Local drift icon Tengku Djan Ley was among the judges.
Defending champion Ariff Johanis from Team Goodyear look set to defend his crown that he won last year. He will be driving his Nissan S13 (aka onevia)
But it was Ah Boy from ACE Suspension and Team Federation D’s Ivan Lau proceeds to the final. Ah Boy was on fire throughout the day but wasn’t able to match Ivan’s drift angle and speed. Eventually, Ivan Lau emerged as the winner of the First Round of Kendall Ace Drift Challenge 2011.
